Welcome to the Labour Website.
The elections are over, bringing in change of a government. Our fundamental freedoms have been restored after 16 years of autocratic rule by the Fiji First Party. But the problems of poverty, high cost of living, low wages, poor housing conditions, rising crime and gender based violence etc continue.
The shocking truth is that over half of our people live in poverty or on the brink of it. Our nation is over-burdened with debt, the economy is deeply troubled, corruption is a huge concern and there is mounting social distress.
Our 2022 Manifesto and supporting documents clearly outline how a Labour government would provide holistic solutions to address these problems.
We would tackle the root causes of poverty and empower our people to live in dignity, earn fair wages, afford healthy nutritious food, provide well rounded education for their children, and access affordable housing and quality health care.
We would ensure that our workers are treated fairly, have security of employment and that their jobsand rights are protected.
To address high levels of rural poverty, Labour has always given utmost priority to rural andagricultural development.
We come with a proven record of 37 years of dedicated and unfailing service to all the people of Fiji. The achievements of the Labour governments of 1987 and 1999 stand as true testimonies of our Vision for the nation, and ability togovern for the benefit of all.
